When you are working on an image, you want to make sure that you get the color adjusted the way that you want as well as lightening or darkening it or a wide variety of other things. The way to do all of that is to work with a color lookup table. But, what is a color lookup table?
Color Lookup Table
When it comes to an image processing program, these tables can be different things. One is that it could be a hardware piece. That hardware will take the colors that it sees and then transfer them into RGB codes. More commonly, especially with image processing programs, it's a piece of software that you can apply. When you apply it to the image, the LUT will change the selected color or the selected area to the color that you want. You can have a variety of lookup tables that you can use, depending on what you are doing and what your ultimate goal is. There are a lot of problems with CLUTs. However, there are ways to deal with some of those problems. One way is to work with a LUT gallery.
One of the problems that LUTs have had is that you don't always know what you are going to see and what's going to happen until after you have actually applied the changes. The problem is that sometimes you are layering various changes and it can be difficult to know what changes you have done what if you aren't happy with what's going on. However, with a gallery, you have some options. For example, generally, you are going to be able to get a live preview of what you are doing before you have to hit apply. That way, you can see if each change you are making is going to be the one that you want. If you are happy with the choice and what the choice is going to do. That will let you layer up each change as well until you have the full set of changes and effects that you are looking for. After you are done with the preview, all you have to do is hit the apply button and everything you saw on your preview will now be live on your image.
If you do a lot of image processing, then you are going to want to make sure that you can do it as easily as possible. A LUT gallery can help you with that.Share
